Global news publishers to share climate change content
Date: 21 May 2015
An alliance of news organisations, including the Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, El Pais, Le Monde, India Today and China Daily have said that they will share climate change content in the run-up to the forthcoming UN summit. The agreement is designed to help raise the profile of the issues.
The companies will waive licensing fees for articles covering climate change so that members of the alliance, titled the Climate Publishing Network, can freely publish articles. The network is expected to grow from its initial 25 founding members until the agreement concludes on the last day of the Paris summit on December 11th.
In a statement, the companies said "We very much hope that publications across the political spectrum will join us either in using some of our material or, ideally, offering their own material as well."
